Research at AU

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, UAV
The Automation section covers several  specific topics. Follow the links on the right for details.

Robust and optimal control. Development of new methods for analysis and design of robust and optimal controllers and algorithms.

Fuzzy control and neural networks. Control methods based on rules rather than mathematical formulas.

Autonomous control systems. Design and implementation of intelligent software for mission control.

Supervision and functional modelling. Development and implementation of new methods for supervision, fault handling and man-machine communication for large industrial systems.

Flexible mechanical systems and mechatronics. Modelling and control of flexible mechanical structures such as fast robot links.

Computer aided control engineering. Computer based modelling, analysis, design, simulation and evaluation of control systems.

Control of internal combustion (spark ignition) engines. Modelling, identification and control of nonlinear systems, especially i.c. engines for cars.
